Technology is something that is still growing and changing daily. So it is no surprise, when new technology comes out that can greatly helps us achieve what we need or want to get, only faster and easier than you could before.  Technology has had a big impact on the yearbook process! Efforts are underway to digitize yearbooks, making it easier to find old family and friends. This effort is called the eBlack Champaign-Urbana project.  This project reaches out to Champaign and Urbana high school.

What does digitizing a yearbook really do to make things easier you may ask? If you are planning a high school reunion and need photographs to put together you would be able to simply go online to this resource and find exactly what you need! The eBlack Champaign-Urbana project focuses largely on the preservation of African-American history and culture dating to the 1950’s in the area and going until the 1980’s. This technology has the potential to spread like wildfire to other area’s who wish to also electronically document their schools history. The eBlack Champaign-Urbana project makes it possible to search for anyone to get pictures from the yearbooks they want, without having to cut from an existing yearbook.  The spread of technology has again made our lives easier!

By putting a copy of a yearbook online, you give everyone access to their past. If your yearbook was damaged or you want copies of photos, you can easily access an online version of your yearbook.
