We offer two types of soft cover binding: Saddle Stitched and Perfect Bound. We also offer two types of hard cover binding: Regular and Smyth Sewn.

We will replace any and all books that are damaged in shipping or are delivered with material defects. No exceptions!

Your price per book is determined by the number of copies and the number of pages of your yearbook. Other factors to consider include the type of cover (hard or soft) and any additional enhancements you may choose.

Start with your enrollment as a guide and figure that between 30-60% of your students and faculty will purchase a yearbook. This is only a guide and each school is different. The best way to determine your order is to have a pre-sale to get an idea of the number of books you will need and adjust your order if necessary. You are able to change the number of books you want to order at any time, without penalty, up until you submit your book for printing. We will also adjust your pricing to reflect the change in the number of books or pages of your final order. Please keep in mind that our minimum order is 50 books.

Many yearbooks include at least one page per classroom, plus activity pages. Add the total number of classrooms for the total number of portrait pages you will need. Then decide how many staff pages and which activities and events will be included in your yearbook to determine the number of pages you will need. We can provide a Page Ladder to help you outline and organize the pages in the book. The final page count must be divisible by 4 for production purposes or 16 if you have a Smyth bound book.

We ship all books by UPS Ground Service or freight in bulk to the shipping address you provide. If you submitted your book on the submission date of your agreement, and there have been no delays, the estimated delivery date on your agreement applies. Direct shipping is available at an additional charge. Contact us for details.

You can change the number of books or pages up until the time of submission. Just contact our office at 888-680-0143 or email production@yearboolife.com for instructions and pricing information. Changes must be finalized in your design software before you submit.

Yes, please provide us with the name, email address and phone number of the new contact. We will reach out to him/her and get them all the information about training, and the yearbook process, etc.

Yes, please put the artwork and your instructions in a secure mailer to avoid any damage and send it to us at the address below. Be sure to include notes as to which drawing(s) goes on the front and which on the back. Also include your contact information so we can reach you if we have any questions.

We usually give basic guidelines to the students to make them as universal as possible.

The drawings can be done on a regular 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of white paper. You want your drawings to be as vivid as possible, so encourage the kids to use more vibrant colors and less light colors, but this is also at the discretion of the artist. Colored pencils work well… markers are great, but can bleed in the hands of younger kids.

Have you established a “theme” for the book? Are you encouraging the kids to draw to the “theme” or just anything that is significant to them? You can offer guidance this way.

The only document you need that lists the key due dates is your Publishing Order. We only have one deadline for the pages so you don’t have to juggle multiple deadlines. Some customers may have a separate cover deadline.

You can certainly have more time to work on your book. Please contact our office at 888-680-0143 or email production@yearbooklife.com with your new anticipated submission date, and we can give you the new estimated delivery date.

There are no late fees or financial penalty for doing so. Be aware, however, that any delay in submission of your book will cause a delay in delivery. Your project may need to be rescheduled to an available date on our production calendar, which may cause your yearbook delivery to be delayed past your desired distribution date or last day of school.

The version you see onscreen is a low-resolution version because it would take too long to generate a hi-resolution view of every page. Clarity can also be impacted by the resolution settings of your screen. All images should all be uploaded at 300 dpi. The software will trigger a warning message for any low-resolution images. Be sure to review and correct any low-resolution images. These images will print despite the warning.

Our software is a completely online program. There is no software to install. You’ll log into the software website using your email as the login and your password.

Once the portraits are uploaded and flowed by class, you can generate a pdf of the pages to distribute via email or in hard copy.

Flowing portraits is not difficult and the system gives you dialog boxes once you get started. Just make sure you have the SPOA formatted files from your photographer. Those files contain all of the portraits along with a database that has all of the data (name, teacher, grade, etc.) that is associated with each picture.

Your invoice is issued upon submission of your yearbook. No deposit is required for printed yearbooks. If you are a YBLifeLine customer, full payment is due prior to the submission of your yearbook.
