This will open the preferences window where you can change the following options:
In the Ladder, you can choose to keep the warning drawers open or closed. These warnings are the export warnings that users are displayed when items are too low resolution or when items are placed outside of the margins. If you choose to keep the drawers open, the Ladder will look like this:
If you choose to keep the drawers closed, the Ladder will look like this:
Within Pages, allow the left palette toolbar and second-level toolbar to dismiss to maximize screen space. This is a handy feature for those users who may be using the software with a low resolution on their screens. If you choose this option, everything except the top-level toolbar will be hidden when you are working on a page:
Please note that you can always show the toolbars by moving your mouse to where the toolbar would be normally. If you do this, the toolbar will appear.
Within Pages, enable real-time font preview will allow you to see what the font you are using looks like as you are typing. For example, if the option is not chosen, all text editing will take place in the default font:
But if you have the option enabled, text editing will happen in the font that the text box will print with.
Default view for the mini-ruler at the top of a text box in editing mode refers to the ruler that appears above a text box as you are typing in it.
Just as you can set the ruler around the page to display in inches or picas, you can set this ruler to display the same way as well.
Within Pages, default ruler status allows you to turn the ruler around the page on or off.
Notify me if elements get too close to the margins allows you to disable the warning about the margins.
If you choose to disable these warnings, please be sure that you are aware of the risks involved in placing items too close to the bleed.
Dual cropper allows you to set which mode the crop tool goes into immediately. Please note that both modes are still accessible no matter how this is set, it merely controls which mode comes up first.
Show/Hide mini-ruler that appears at the top of a text box when editing it allows you to disable the ruler that appears at the top of a text box.
Notify me after every page save allows you to avoid seeing a popup confirming that a page has been saved.
Working on page 1 or last saved page controls where you are brought to when you go to Pages.
By default, you will be brought to page 1, but you can set it to go to the last page that you had saved to help you get back working on the same page quicker.
